hCaptcha

We use the hCaptcha anti-bot service (hereinafter “hCaptcha”) on our website. This service is provided by Intuition Machines, Inc., a Delaware US Corporation (“IMI”). hCaptcha is used to check whether the data entered on our website (such as on a login page or contact form) has been entered by a human or by an automated program. To do this, hCaptcha analyzes the behavior of the website or mobile app visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website or mobile app visitor enters a part of the website or app with hCaptcha enabled. For the analysis, hCaptcha evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, how long the visitor has been on the website or app, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis will be forwarded to IMI. hCaptcha analysis in the “invisible mode” may take place completely in the background. Website or app visitors are not advised that such an analysis is taking place if the user is not shown a challenge. Data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (DSGVO): the website or mobile app operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its site from abusive automated crawling and spam. IMI acts as a “data processor” acting on behalf of its customers as defined under the GDPR, and a “service provider” for the purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). For more information about hCaptcha and IMI’s privacy policy and terms of use, please visit the following links: hCaptcha - Privacy Policy and hCaptcha - Terms of Service

Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google, Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, www.google.com (“Google Analytics” or “Google”). Google Analytics employs cookies that are stored to your computer in order to facilitate an analysis of your use of the site. The information generated by these cookies, such as time, place and frequency of your visits to our site, including your IP address, is transmitted to Google’s location in the US and stored there.

In using Google Analytics our website employs the extension “anonymizeIp”. In doing so, Google abbreviates and thereby anonymizes your IP address before transferring it from EU/EEA member states. Google uses this information to analyze your use of our site, to compile reports for us on internet activity and to provide other services relating to our website.

Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law or where such third parties process this data on Google’s behalf. Google states that it will never associate your IP address with other data held by Google. You can prevent cookies from being installed by adjusting the settings on your browser software accordingly as noted elsewhere in this Privacy Policy. You should be aware, however, that by doing so you may not be able to make full use of all the functions of our website.

Google Analytics also offers a deactivation add-on for most current browsers that provides you with more control over what data Google can collect on websites you access. The add-on tells the JavaScript (ga.js) used by Google Analytics not to transmit any information about website visits to Google Analytics. However, the browser deactivation add-on offered by Google Analytics does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to other web analysis services we may engage.

Google Analytics also uses electronic images known as web beacons (sometimes called single pixel gifs) and are used along with cookies to compile aggregated statistics to analyze how our site is used.

You can find additional information on how to install the browser add-on referenced above at the following link: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on Download Page and also check cookies those set by Analytics from Google Analytics Cookie Usage on Websites  |  Universal Analytics for Web (gtag.js)  |  Google Developers link.

We collect personal data through our internet access/error logs. When you access our website, create snippet, like snippet, report snippet, register, login, forgot password request etc. (any action); your IP address and User Agent are automatically collected and placed in our logs (i.e., log files on server or database). We also record the URLs of the websites and pages you visit, the times and dates of such visits, information about the computer hardware and software you use. This information may include Internet protocol (IP) addresses, user agent information, browser type and version, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data, number of visits, websites from which you accessed our site (Referrer), and websites that are accessed by your system via our site, email address, user identification number. The processing of this data is necessary for the provision and the security of our website. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We can link these data to certain individuals for tracing user / visitor specific issues. After the processing for the mentioned purposes, the data will be deleted in maximum 15 days.

We are using logging as a service solution from NewRelic and all logs are stored in their data center with up to 30 days etention time. You can check their privacy policy page for more information.

3- User Account

We store your user nick name and email address which you provided while registering PasteCode.io. In addition, your IP address information are saved along with your user account information. Unlike in logs, these records are not deleted as long as your account active.

Your account’s nickname will be shown publicly on snippet detail page. So please choose wisely.

Your user’s password one-way hashed then saved our database. But you should always choose a strong password. If you want to extract all data, you can send an email to mail@pastecode.io. Also; you can purge all your data and delete your account by visiting profile page.

If you login/register via one of Social Logins (for example: Google), we will store your id_token metadata in our database. Please check OAuth providers privacy policies for more information.

We are using Gravatar as a avatar solution. Gravatar is a Globally Recognized Avatar. You upload an image and create your public profile just once, and then when you participate in any Gravatar-enabled site (like PasteCode.io), your Gravatar image and public profile will automatically follow you there. Gravatar is a product of Automattic, Inc. and is covered by their privacy policy. Gravatar needs your hashed email address to show your selected avatar. Gravataring an email address (MD5 hashing) is effectively making a single ID that identifies you publicly. Even if you never signed up with Gravatar. This ID can be found on other sites, so if someone does a full transitive search across all public Internet forums, they could see what the same ID has posted. So, if you don’t want to show your avatar (email hash) publicly, you can disable it from the profile page.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time and will note the date of any updates. In the event of any material and significant changes we will endeavour to provide a more prominent notice of the changes to this Privacy Policy.
